Hello and welcome to FTB Design. Here at FTB Design we value Design over anything, and believe the internet should consist only of beautiful things.
Design
A well designed website doesn't just look nice, it works. A website should be easy to navigate, simple to understand, accessible, and work well for both new and returning users.
Navigation
Good navigation consists of:
- A simple navigation bar
- A simple page layout
- A search facility (if the site is large enough)
It is not just a fancy navigation bar that has hover effects and drop down menus
Simple
Over complicated and cluttered websites turn users off. They do not want to have to decipher pages before they can work out what they are saying.
Accessible
Websites should be designed to work well on any computer, with any web browser or resolution. They should also work with screen readers and have the facility to enlarge the text for hard of sight users
New and Returning Users
New users need to be drawn in, and encouraged to explore.
Returning users need to be able to get to where they remember being easily, and should be able to bookmark a page so they can come back
Both new and returning users want the site to have regular updates, and to know information is current and upto date.
